You may remember that about 6 months ago, Sundance Winning director Ondi Timoner and the good folks at A Total Disruption swung by our Waze Palo Alto offices to give viewers a behind the scenes look at our application.
During the past two years, Timoner has filmed over 300 tech innovators and startups in an effort to humanize the often inaccessible and intimidating world of the tech industry in powerful and engaging way. Other notable episodes include: Alexis Ohanian and Steve Huffman of Reddit, Kevin Systrom of Instagram, Tony Hsieh of Zappos, Bram Cohen of BitTorrent, and Reid Hoffman of LinkedIn, all of which can be found at www.atotaldisruption.com.
Ondi is now looking to raise funds via Kickstarter in so that she can continue to tell these aspirational and interesting stories. The project will allow her to release all 300 of the unabridged interviews along with their respective transcripts, creating a highly searchable database for educational mass consumption.
So friends, if you’re at all interested in tech, then I highly urge you to check out not only Ondi’s work, but her Kickstarter campaign as well. This campaign will go a long way to making tech more accessible to the masses. And the more the world at large understand the tech-tonic revolution we’re in, the more likely we are to inspire creators and disruptors into forging the next great application or revolution.
